Integrated with PalmSecure F-Pro for secure mobile authentication

Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. announces the release of the FUJITSU Biometric Authentication PalmSecure F-Pro sensor and Fujitsu STYLISTIC V535 Tablet embedded in a ruggedized carrier for reliable authentication in a fixed or mobile environment.

The F-Pro features the newest and smallest palm vein biometric sensor to date based on industry-proven PalmSecure technology. The Fujitsu ruggedized tablet features an 8.3” projected capacitive touchscreen display, is water and dust resistant with over 5-hours runtime.

The new Fujitsu STYLISTIC V535 with integrated F-Pro solutions is available in three configurations, the Palm Enrollment station for quick and easy registration, the Palm Check-in station for intuitive and convenient authentication and the Palm Mobile that enables staff to roam an office to interact and provide personalized service.

The new Palm Mobile can be used in any remote environment, throughout a hospital, bank branch, retail location, or affixed to a counter.

“Fujitsu is extremely excited about the release of the V535 with integrated F-Pro. We are currently working with strategic partners who will enable us to grow our PalmSecure suite of solutions,” says Randy Fox, vice president, currency handling and identity product solutions, Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc.

“In the future, we will work very closely with these partners as they continue to grow their base of customers interested in replacing legacy systems with innovative new offerings.”

Targeted segments for the F-Pro suite include financial services, healthcare and retail. In financial services, customers can use PalmSecure to have their identities authenticated at ATMs and drive through windows, while employees can use the V535 with integrated F-Pro for mobility applications throughout the branch as well as for Single Sign-On(SSO) applications. In healthcare, patient registration and identification, employee authentication, Single Sign-On and mobile applications.

In retail, F-Pro can be used in a wide variety of applications from identifying employees to authenticating armored car personnel who pick-up and deliver cash.

PalmSecure biometric palm vein sensors use a near-infrared light to capture a user's palm vein pattern, generating a unique biometric template that is matched against the palm vein patterns of pre-registered users.

Unlike other biometric readers, the PalmSecure device does not come into contact with the skin, making it extremely hygienic, non-intrusive and unrestricted by external factors such as skin types, topical lotions, and other conditions. And unlike other biometric technologies where a certain percentage of the public cannot register for one reason or another, the PalmSecure sensor has never failed to register a user.

With the enhanced F-Pro sensor, image capture time is reduced to speed user authentication. In addition, F-Pro offers improved environmental tolerance, supporting a broader range of temperatures and broader lighting tolerances including under sunlight.

Fujitsu's biometric solutions, PalmSecure sensors and PalmSecure for SSO(single sign-on) only recognize the palm vein pattern if blood is actively flowing within the individual's veins, so forgery is virtually impossible.

This advanced, vascular pattern recognition technology not only provides highly reliable authentication with low false accept and reject rates, but also allows for fast and easy enrollment.
