Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leader in innovative technology and front-end solutions today announces the release of the F-Pro Suite, featuring the newest and smallest palm vein biometrics sensor based on industry-proven PalmSecure technology.

The F-Pro suite of products consists of the new F-Pro biometric sensor, now 50% smaller than Fujitsu's earlier palm vein sensors, the F-Pro Standard with integrated hand guide, and the F-Pro Mouse for general user authentication applications such as Enterprise wide access control and Single Sign-On applications.

In addition, the F-Pro suite of products offers improved environmental tolerance, supporting a broader range of temperatures, and improved sunlight tolerance.

With the enhanced F-Pro sensor, image capture time is reduced to speed user authentication. Biometric solution providers and integrators will find exceptional acceptance of Fujitsu's new F-Pro suite of products as an easy to use biometric which is both highly reliable, non-contact, and virtually impossible to forge.

The PalmSecure Software Development Kit (SDK) has also been updated to support the F-Pro suite and is backward compatible with legacy PalmSecure version 2 sensors.

Fujitsu F-Pro Biometric sensor

“We are very excited about the introduction of the Fujitsu PalmSecure palm vein biometrics F-Pro suite. F-Pro's reduced size and enhanced capture speeds will enable us to enter new markets while providing a true differentiator for our existing network of partners,” says Randy Fox, vice president, currency handling and identity product solutions, Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc.

“We expect to leverage the technology resident in the F-Pro suite in order to develop and launch new products in financial services, healthcare and retail while upgrading existing products in those verticals in the very near future.”

PalmSecure biometric palm vein sensors use a near-infrared light to capture a user's palm vein pattern, generating a unique biometric template that is matched against the palm vein patterns of pre-registered users.

Unlike other biometric readers, the PalmSecure device does not come into contact with the skin, making it extremely hygienic, non-intrusive and unrestricted by external factors such as skin types, topical lotions, and other conditions.

Additionally, unlike other biometric technologies where a certain percentage of the public cannot register for one reason or another, PalmSecure has never failed to register a user.

Fujitsu's biometric solutions, PalmSecure sensors and PalmSecure for SSO(single sign-on) only recognize the palm vein pattern if blood is actively flowing within the individual's veins, so forgery is virtually impossible.

This advanced, vascular pattern recognition technology not only provides highly reliable authentication with low false accept and reject rates, but also allows for fast and easy enrollment.
